I am evaluating your product for use on our corporate website. We are still developing in asp.net 1.1 and VS2003. I have followed your instructions on the manual install (msi didn't work) and can place the control on my page. I then downloaded the bbc.flv file to run tests. It all looks good but when I view it in IE7 I get nothing. The control is ther (click space...) but the page is empty. You currently don't offer a demo that will run in VS2003 so I'm at a loss as far as checking it against yours. Could you please provide a demo for VS2003 for reference or provide more detailed instructions on VS2003 installation, to make sure everything is setup correctly. - Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hi Robert,

We are absolutely going to make VS2003 demonstrations, but we are prioritizing VS2005 demos right now, and we have not yet completed all of them.

However, since you did ask, I'll look into building a FlashVideo VS2003 demo asap. I'll post it on this forum thread for you once it is ready. Expect it within the week - if I don't get to it by friday then certainly by Monday.

If you've found a bug (a rather large one if you have) it might take a little longer...

Thank you for your patience!

Thanks Dave! I've been able to make everything work in my 2005 environment, looks great. I was just thinking that I missed something in the install or didn't add all the needed references in my project. The only one you listed was the dll, and that one is good to go. Again, Thanks and I look forward to the 2003 demo.

Robert,

I've added a ASP.NET 1.x version of the hello world demo here : http://www.aspnetflash.com/ASPNetFlashVideo/demos/ASPNetFlashVideoDemo_HelloWorld.zip

Please note that you were likely doing nothing wrong - I fixed a bug that we created with the last release to make it work.

Let me know if anything else doesn't go so smoothly - I'm going to bang out NET 1.x versions of the other two FlashVideo demos now, so check them out as well - downloadable from the FlashVideo - demonstrations section.

Cheers!

I am also running VS2003 with .net 1.1 and on local host which is Windows 2003 Server I also get nothing no image and no sound. When i go over the flash application I can see a bounding rectangle for flash but when I click on the flash applet nothing else is visible. Nothing at all is displayed.

I am working with the hello world application and it does not work.

Please help.

I reviewed these steps taken from KB article referenced earlier, but found one glitch. The original steps are as follows:

1. On the Windows 2003 server, open the Internet Information Services Manager.
2. Expand the Local Computer Server.
3. Right-click the local computer server and select Properties.
4. Select the MIME Types tab.
5. Click New and enter the following information:
6. Associated Extension box: .FLV
7. MIME Type box:flv-application/octet-stream
8. Click OK.
9. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing service.

The only change here is instead of typing 'flv-application/octet-stream' in the MIME box for step #7 I typed, 'video/x-flv'. I followed the rest of the steps and it all worked. BTW, I m running Windows Server 2003 64-bit Enterprise from my C# .net 2.0 application.
